And I dressed up as Pyjama Girl, which, shut up, is totally a real costume. Now, um, I might actually write fic? | Ack, why can I not write? I'm trying to finish my spook_me David/Selena fic, and I love the premise, like, a lot, but actually getting it down is like pulling teeth. Yesterday I wrote 200 words! This was an improvement over the last four days. God, why is it hard? Far more awesomely: prettylightsfic is running again this year! Besides yuletide, it looks like this may be the only holiday fic exchange I participate in this year (unless something new and awesome suddenly pops up - I would not say no to something Disney-themed, or even Glee), so I'm very excited. The poll to gauge interest in fandoms is up now, so if you have any interest in a multifandom RPF exchange, you should totally consider signing up, and go vote! And, I'm just saying - if you really love me (and are genuinely interested in participating), and wanted to suggest Disney RPF as a write-in fandom? I would totally not be opposed to that. Since I have no new fic to offer (I'm still working on those meme prompt fics, I swear), have some episode reactions: ( Glee )( One Tree Hill )The last episode of Greek wasn't my favourite, but Ashleigh is adorable. As always. I'm kind of loving Eastwick (even though I'm not fully caught up yet), which I only really started watching because I love Jaime Ray Newman and Rebecca Romijn, but it's awesomely cracky and kind of enchanting. And I'm watching Flash Forward, mostly at talumin's behest, but the only things I really care about are a) Janis, b) John Cho, and c) WHAT WAS UP WITH THE RANDOM FREAKING WALLABY? Um. ETA: Haha, this window has been open so long that I managed to watch The Plan before I finished posting! Thinky thoughts to come, possibly?

Nobody told her the spell she used would have consequences for her, too. (Okay, they did, but seriously, who reads the fine print?) Blackmail Is Such An Ugly Word; How About Fishpaste? (Wizards Of Waverly Place - Justin/Alex - PG-13 - 10,234 words) Justin uses magic without permission. Alex catches him. (And then they fight robots.) Do Over (And Over) (Wizards Of Waverly Place - Justin/Alex - PG - 500 words) This is how it doesn't happen. Spoilers up to episode 1:2 - First Kiss.Falling Through Your Clothes (Wizards Of Waverly Place - Justin/Alex - PG - 1204 words) Alex paints in one of Justin's shirts. Justin isn't amused. Guitar Hero (Wizards Of Waverly Place - Justin/Alex - NC-17 - 1982 words) They're totally rock stars. Spoilers up to episode 2:11 - Make It Happen.Spin Spin Sugar (Wizards Of Waverly Place - Justin/Alex - R - 1847 words) Turnabout is fair play (and they're only playing). Spoilers up to episode 1:12 - Justin's Little Sister. The Night Moves (Wizards Of Waverly Place - Justin/Alex - NC-17 - 4270 words) Justin and Alex find themselves trapped in a closet, with no way out and nothing to do. (Well, okay, maybe not with nothing to do.) Spoilers up to episode 1:14 - Wizard School (Part Two).I haven't written this much ... well, since Veronica Mars. It's kind of awesome. Anyway, I spent yesterday watching Brothers & Sisters to get into that head space, so now I'm going to finish my femgen fic. And then probably write some more Wizards Of Waverly Place fic, because, well.

Three remixes, two porn battle/kink meme entries, one Sweet Charity fic, and a ficathon pinch hit; about 12,500 words, all told. In the end, it always comes down to a choice. Spoilers up to episode 1:12 - Omega. If You Can't Stand The Heat, Don't Set Yourself On Fire (Psych - Shawn/Juliet - PG - 2515 words) A heat wave hits Santa Barbara. A crime wave isn't far behind. What I'm Trying To Say (Star Trek - Kirk/Gaila - PG-13 - 885 words) Gaila only wanted to do something nice. In other news ... I may be falling back in love with Stargate Atlantis? I started rewatching it recently (at least, the first three seasons), and, I don't know. I really used to love this show. I think maybe I'm not as done with the fandom as I previously expected. (In which case, ha! I knew I could never leave a fandom for good. In your face, eight-months-ago me!)

| remixredux09 reveals are up! (Or going up, depending on time zones and when people get around to logging in.) I can't wait to see who wrote the remix of my fic - I'm trying hard to restrain myself from refreshing every five minutes to see if they've edited their post yet :) I honestly have no idea if this is a surprise or not, but I wrote: Dragon Wars: D-War (Realistic Projection Remix) (Battlestar Galactica - Ensemble - PG-13 - 3833 words) There's a dragon on board Galactica. Set during season one. Spoilers up to episode 4:15 - No Exit. So, yeah. I'm pretty sure the title gives away the fact that it's completely crack, but if it doesn't, the summary should. Honestly, I didn't mean to title it that, but once it popped into my head, I couldn't not. (And in case there are people out there who haven't seen it - the horror! - Dragon Wars: D-War is an actual film. Which I love, despite it being ... well. mojotastic picspammed it here, and even if you have no interest in the movie, you should really check out the picspam, which is awesome and hilarious and 100% responsible for the fact that I ever watched the movie.) Anyway, my fic is a remix of The Stories We Tell by lls_mutant, which is sort of crack!fic in its own right. Just, maybe, not so much as the remix is. It's not what I initially thought I'd remix - I'd have loved to do a remix of Honor And Duty, for example, or any number of her Gaeta fics - but I read The Stories We Tell almost as an afterthought, and the idea popped into my head immediately. Hey, my brain said, what if, through some sort of projection accident, a dragon really appeared on Galactica? And I thought, surely I can't write that, it's complete crack. And I sat on it for a few days, and the idea just wouldn't go away, and I thought ... it could be awesome? So eventually I gave in and wrote it. Honestly, I kind of love it, and I hope lls_mutant isn't disappointed that she didn't get a more serious remix. In my head, this felt very much like Reset, my other cracked-out-premise BSG ensemble fic, and I think that's what ultimately convinced me to write it, because I really loved writing Reset. In fact, I almost fudged the timeline of this a bit so I could include Helo and Athena in season two - it would have also included D'Anna, who I was a little sorry to lose - but then I decided it really did belong in season one, and that way I could write Boomer instead. Plus it gave me the chance to include a little Crashdown/Boomer, which made me happy. I'm mostly very easy to please. (In a side note, it amuses me that over the course of two ficathons, I managed to remix both the bsg_remix mods - rose_griffes for bsg_remix, and lls_mutant for remixredux09.) So, now I'm off to respond to the awesome feedback I got, and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else wrote! | |

| Happy birthday, squaringkarma! This is probably late, but I hope you have (or had) and awesome day (and if you'd like a birthday ficlet of some sort, just let me know). remixredux09 is open! I'm really looking forward to reading through the archive later, but in the meantime, I have to rec the remix that was written for me: Past The Red Line (We Are All Ghosts Remix) (Battlestar Galactica/Firefly - Cally, Kaylee - PG-13) You like old planes. Spoilers for Serenity (movie) and through Season 2 of BSG. Cally is one of those characters (unfortunately, not the only one) who I think was unfairly short-changed by fandom, and even more badly so by canon. She was never one of my favourite characters, but she did win an immeasurable amount of goodwill from me in Bastille Day, and that never really went away. (And besides, if I started hating female characters just because their storylines were badly handled in canon, I'd barely love anyone.) But, this! This is such an awesome portrait of her, and I love it fiercely. Cally is awesome in it, as are all the Firefly crew. This is such a better story than she ever got in canon, and I love her more here than at any point in canon after Bastille Day. Seriously, if you like Cally at all - or even if you don't hate her - you should really, really read this. | |

| All bsg_remix fics have been posted, yay! There are so many awesome fics over there, but I would be particularly remiss if I didn't point you towards the remix written for me: Apres Moi, Le Deluge (Helo/Sharon, PG-13). I tend not to think of remixes as regular fic exchanges (because, well, they're not), but you guys, it's like this fic really was written for me. If there's a common thread in my early BSG fics, especially, it's examining the line between Boomer and Athena; this fic does exactly that, and I love it so. Reveals go up tomorrow; I ended up writing two fics, and I'll write a ficlet for anyone who correctly guesses one or both of them. (Hell, if you guess both, I'll write you anything.) In other news, I submitted my remixredux09 fic, picked up a pinch hit for apocalyptothon (which is very exciting, since I hadn't signed up for it this year because of other commitments and was feeling bummed about not participating), and have spent the past ... way too many hours skimming through the prompts at st_xi_kink. Star Trek Kink Meme: more addictive than TV Tropes? Comments are screened, for guessing purposes ;) | |

| I finished my Sweet Charity fic! I emailed the person who bought me, so I'll wait until I hear back from them to post it, but, yay! This means the only hard deadline I have over the next couple of weeks is remixredux09, and I have a decent handle on that. And the rest of my time is mine! I can write some more Doom fic (don't judge - I love what I love), maybe some bsg_pornbattle fics, hopefully finish the next chapter of As You Like it. And order Chinese food and watch D.E.B.S. with talumin, which is what I'm planning on doing right now. | |

| [#1] remixthedrabble authors have been revealed! I ended up writing three fics: Should Fall Apart (The End Is The Beginning Is The End Remix) (Firefly - Mal/Inara - PG-13 - 100 words) It isn't at all the way she imagined it. Spoilers for the entire series, including Serenity. A remix of Should Fall Apart by trialia. Is There A Box For "I'm Totally Gay?" (The Cover Girl Remix) (Gossip Girl - Blair/Jenny - PG - 100 words) She thinks about kissing the gloss right off Blair's lips. A remix of Not Your Girl by sionnain. Confessor (The Intergalactic Communication Remix) (Stargate SG-1/Farscape - Cameron, Aeryn - PG - 100 words) She is only a soldier. A remix of untitled by kernezelda. And I got five remixes written for me, which is totally awesome: Know Thyself (Battlestar Galactica - Sharon - G - 100 words) by juliet42. A remix of Eight. The Hard Prayer (The Sacrificial Wolf Remix) (Battlestar Galactica - Helo, Sharon - PG - 100 words) by paperflowered. A remix of After Me Comes The Flood. The End Of The World (In 5 Steps Or Less): The Dubious Remix (Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Xander/Buffy - PG - 100 words) by crevanfox. A remix of The End Of The World, In Five Steps Or Less. When I Grow Up (The Blood And Gore Remix) (Farscape - Aeryn - PG-13 - 100 words) by crevanfox. A remix of When I Grow Up. Delegation (Lost Souls Remix) (Dead Like Me/Reaper - Gladys, George, Sam - PG - 100 words) by lotus0kid. A remix of Lost Souls. [#2] I wrote fic for oxoniensis' porn battle: Boredom Fades, But Infidelity's For Keeps (CW RPF - Alona Tal/Danneel Harris - PG-13 - 1348 words) She fucking hates these things, she really does.I meant to write more, but I got some bad news last week and went MIA for a few days. Anyway, I'm still happy that I participated. [#3] bsg_pornbattle prompts are up! It doesn't start until the 26th, but I already can't wait. I missed out on writing anything the last round, so I'm going to try to get a jump on my remaining fic obligations to make sure I've got the free time this round. [#4] I got my fic in for bsg_remix (on time!), and I'm 99% sure I know what I'm going to write for remixredux09. And it's awesome. I can't wait for the BSG Remix fics to go live! | |
| I only write two fics in March, which is not that surprising, considering I've been working on my stories for thelittlebang and boxofmagic. Anyway, they were both for fandoms I hadn't written in for a while, so I'm counting it as a win. I Enjoy Being (Insert Here) (Arrested Development - Michael/Lindsay - PG-13 - 1169 words) Two things Lindsay tried to be, and one she didn't have to (but did anyway). Electric Feel (Heroes - Nathan/Claire - R - 1252 words) The wallpaper is too loud, the water pressure sucks, and she already misses her own bed. Spoilers up to episode 3:19 - Shades Of Gray. The latter was written for the Heroes anon kink meme, which is actually the first time I've participated in a kink meme; it was a lot of fun. And I really meant to write some fics for bsg_pornbattle, but I was out of town (and without internet access) the weekend it was on. I still need to read the fics that were posted there, though, and I might even end up using some of the prompts as inspiration for later fics. And, whew! I (finally) finished my BSG miniseries picspam, which took me way longer than I anticipated - still, it was a lot of fun, and the pretty = ♥. One thing-in-progress done, only a zillion to go. | |
| With BSG at an end, and the rewatch going on at bsg_refrak, I thought I'd do a picspam of the miniseries. (Sort of.) Includes pics from later episodes, so there are spoilers all the way up to episode 4:20 - Daybreak (Part Two). ( The cylons were created by man ) | |
| Okay, it's officially surprising how reinvested in BSG I am now that the show is over. Which is odd, because it's not like I really loved the finale. (There's definitely something about imperfect canon sources and fannish impetus, particularly since the character I'm most in love with right now is Boomer.) I rewatched the miniseries a week or so ago for bsg_refrak, and then I watched all of season one (because I love that season, like, unreservedly), and then today, I watched the miniseries again. And, I don't know, I really feel like the miniseries gets better and better every time you watch it - like, the first time I watched it, I remember it felt like it went for about six hours, and was just incredibly dense (but awesome). But after the ... fourth or fifth time through, it feels really well-balanced and easy to watch and not too heavy at all. Which, in retrospect, may have something to do with the fact that I first started watching BSG after starting SGA ;) Anyway, I was going to watch season one - again - but I decided I felt like watching season 4.0 instead, since I now have it on DVD and everything. So I'm doing that. It's actually a lot of fun, especially since I can marathon it now; I didn't get to do that the first time through, and it's definitely the way I prefer to watch my TV shows. What I should be doing, of course, is working on my Big Bang(s), but, I don't know. I'm really procrastinating on that, plus they're just ... not BSG. I have very little time for things that aren't BSG right now. I'm feeling almost monofannish, actually, which is something I've never felt before. It's new, and kind of exciting (if somewhat inconvenient, re: the aforementioned Big Bangs). I still need to type up some episode reactions (man, I haven't done those - at least, for non-BSG shows - for ages, but Greek came back this week, and I am so freaking excited about that), plus a couple of BSG meta posts I still really want to write. And vid recs, because I really believe, in a totally subjective and biased fashion, that BSG fandom has the best vids ever. And my March fic roundup (of all of two fics), which I will post shortly. At least my miniseries(-ish) picspam is nearly done. Plus, I am kind of having vid thoughts. Which, I know, I say that from time to time and inevitably never follow through. But this time, I actually have all the footage already sourced, which is usually my biggest problem - like, I run out of vidding momentum before I even really get started on a vid, which sucks. So, who knows. One day, I swear, I will actually make a vid, and not just parts of one. Also, it's 3pm and haven't slept, so - maybe I should get on that? ETA: Dude, what's going on at Kindreds? (I mean, I guess I could check it out myself, but.) I haven't visited there for ages - I should really rectify that, once I get it together enough to write some Helo/Athena fic. | |
| Sweet Charity ends in less than 24 hours, so there's still time to bid. We've raised almost £7,000 already, which is completely awesome. It's slightly less awesome than I've been outbid on all the things I wanted, but I can't wait to see what comes out of the auction, anyway! (And don't forget to check your bids periodically, if there's something you really want; the notification emails aren't always reliable, so make sure you double check that you're still the highest bidder.) I have TV thoughts, but they might have to wait for another post - I'm reserving judgement on Heroes, at least, until I've seen this week's episode. From starxd_sparrow, who gave me Karl Agathon, Peter Petrelli, and Don Lamb (slightly spoilery for their respective shows): ( Marry, shag, or throw off a cliff? ) | |
| I'm back from hiatus! Did y'all miss me? I was in Byron Bay for the weekend visiting my dad, which was a lot of fun, but it also means I'm totally behind on stuff that's been going on for the past few days. So, if anything totally important or exciting has happened, let me know! Sweet Charity is open for bidding! I really, really want to buy a vid this time - it's really not in my budget (which is nonexistent), but. It's the last auction ever, and I want. I'm offering to write fic - you can find my listing here (at the bottom of the page), and bid here; if you want more information, you can ask questions about it here. More BSG post-finale reactions coming soon, possibly including (but not limited to) meta, picspams, and fic. I kinda miss my show already :( | |
| I really can't believe BSG is over. I wasn't caught up on it until tonight, but now I've watched the final episodes, so ... ( Battlestar Galactica )In honour of the occasion: community recs! bsg_pornbattle. Prompting is open until the end of the 23rd, so you should all go leave some prompts. Because what's more cathartic than porn, really? bsg_refrak. What better way to deal with the show ending than to start it all over again? The rewatch of the miniseries is beginning this week, and god, the nostalgia! Like, do you remember when Helo wasn't going to be brought back for the series? (No, seriously.) Or when Lee and Adama didn't get along? When Adama and Roslin didn't get along? When Kara and Lee were Starbuck and Apollo? When the entire series was so full of promise, and we had no idea how it was all going to end up? Come along for the ride! | |
| I posted four fics in February, in four fandoms; two I'd written in before (Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars), one I'd only written as part of a crossover (Gossip Girl), and one completely new fandom (Legend Of The Seeker). Mutiny, I Promise You (Battlestar Galactica - Lee/Racetrack - R - 1653 words) Galactica's lack of privacy wasn't exactly news to Maggie. Spoilers up to episode 2:4 - Resistance.Elevator Love Letter (Gossip Girl - Jack/Blair - NC-17 - 1335 words) She's well bred, cultured, and she has a good education. It's not that hard. Spoilers up to episode 2:15 - Gone With The Will.Destroy Everything You Touch (Legend Of The Seeker - Richard/Kahlan - R - 1522 words) This isn't just dangerous, it's potentially catastrophic. Spoilers up to episode 1:8 - Denna.Down Again (Veronica Mars - Lamb/Veronica - PG-13 - 29,290 words) When one of her sorority sisters is killed, Veronica's second year at Hearst promises (threatens?) to be just as exciting as her first. Sequel to What Goes Down. AU from episode 3:2 - My Big Fat Greek Rush Week; potential spoilers up to the end of season three. As for the next few months ... well, purimgifts is due in a few days, which is awesome. And after that, I've signed up for two Big Bangs: thelittlebang (She's The Man, Olivia/Viola) and boxofmagic (Merlin, Arthur/Morgana). I know, crazy, right? But in my defense, the minimum word count for both challenges is only 15,000 words, which means I've signed up to write at least 30,000 words in three months. And since my fics posted this month add up to around 34,000 words ... I'm not really worried. I didn't take advantage of February to plot and ouline my thelittlebang fic like I planned to, so I'll have to do that over the next few days, but I'm very excited. Yay, epic rom-coms! | |

| boxofmagic, a Merlin Big Bang, has opened sign ups. And, damn it, I didn't think I was that involved in this fandom, but I really kind of want to sign up to write an epic, cracky, Arthur/Morgana modern AU. Or an Emma style matchmaker!Morgana AU, because that idea made its way into my head while I was writing Summer In The City, and it was so much fun. Help! So far, this year's 'writing longer fics' resolution is going really well, which apparently translates into wanting to sign up for a bunch of Big Bangs. Like, I really wish there was one for Veronica Mars, and I'm trying very hard not to talk myself into creating one. And a Battlestar Galactica Big Bang would be awesome. Damn, damn, damn ... The minimum word count for boxofmagic is only 15,000 words (35,000 words if you want guaranteed artwork), which makes it very tempting ... I'm going to resist. I'm mostly resisting. But there are quite a few sign ups for Arthur/Morgana already, which is awesome, and I'm looking forward to reading the fic that comes out of it. But I'm not going to sign up. Probably. | |
