| Title: Don't You Forget About Me Fandom: Wizards Of Waverly Place Pairing(s): Justin/Alex Word Count: 7005 Rating: PG-13 Summary: All Alex wanted to do was to make Justin forget. (In which case, the spell could be called a success, but ... maybe not so much.) In which magic is used without permission, Justin gets amnesia, and Alex is definitely not his girlfriend. Notes: Written for summerstorm in the Fall Fandom Free-For-All. ( I don't know who you are, but I believe you ) | |

| It's a little late for a mid-month check-in, but whatever, I'm doing one anyway. ( Exchange fics )( Other stuff )So. I don't want to jinx it, but the Fall Fandom Free-For-All fic is finally going the way it was supposed to. Already there have been things that could possibly qualify as wacky hijinks! A reboot was definitely the way to go, I think. (It's still a lot later than I intended to have it finished, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to work on To Wish Impossible Things as much as I wanted, but still. I'm just glad it's actually going somewhere now.) I'm still keeping up with wrisomifu, and in the past week I've made progress on four of the six fics I'm working on. So, yay. | |
|
| Title: Burn, Don't Freeze Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Pairing(s): Buffy/Faith Word Count: 100 Rating: PG-13 Summary: It's easy to keep warm, at first.Notes: Written for the drabble challenge at whedonland. ( In the cold light of the morning ) | |

| Seriously, what is with writing lately? My latest fic, which was initially so easy and effortless, has been dragging for the past week, and I just don't get it. Every time I wrote something, I'd have to go back and edit the crap out of it the next day, because it just was not working, and finally, I realised that the fic as a whole was not working - it was dragging, and not going in the direction I wanted it to, and that while it was ... not bad, exactly, nothing of any real importance was happening at all. For 5000 words. (And for that, I totally blame my lack of outline, which left me to wander off in all sorts of directions I hadn't intended. Oops.)
And finally, I realised that if the fic was giving me that much angst, maybe just pushing through it wasn't the best solution, after all. So I deleted it.
And - I mean, that was a lot of work for nothing, but also, it feels so good to be starting over with a blank slate that I don't regret my decision at all. I now have 600 words of shiny new fic, and have plotted, in some detail, the rest of the fic, so I'm fairly confident that huge sucking mess thing won't be happening again.
(This fic will be FUN, DAMMIT, even if I have to force it to be.) - Tags:fanfiction

| I got my yuletide and prettylightsfic assignments, yay! Which is to say: OMG YULETIDE ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥. You guys, I am SO EXCITED about my holiday ficathons, I can't even. (And I've even started writing my prettylightsfic fic, I AM SO ON TOP OF THINGS.) In case you're looking for them, my prettylightsfic letter is here, and my yuletide letter is here. And, okay, I realise that they are insanely long, so I'm sorry for that! But basically, they are just ridiculously rambly ways of saying that I will love anything written for me, so. I am so psyched about my assignments, I'm suddenly overcome with a rush of wanting to finish up the stuff I'm writing that's still due so I can feel less guilty about jumping straight into my ficathons. Because, AWESOME, SERIOUSLY. | |

| Title: If I Could Talk I'd Tell You Fandom: Glee Pairing(s): Artie/Tina Word Count: 100 Rating: PG Summary: There's a lot she wants to tell him. Notes: Spoilers for episode 1:9 - Wheels. ( When I can smile I'll let you know ) | |

| The Office is distracting me. talumin is currently rewatching what we have of the U.S. series on DVD, and not only is it an all too convenient excuse to not be writing, but that (combined with the recent awesomeness of Subtle Sexuality) is also giving me inconveniently timed re-flaily Ryan/Kelly (and B.J./Mindy) feelings. I had to try really hard to restrain myself from requesting The Office RPF for yuletide again this year, even though a) it's already one of my requests for prettylightsfic, and b) I requested it for last year's yuletide, and received not one but two awesome fics. (Which are totally to blame for me wanting to ask for it again - they were perfect, and I want more of that.) I'm also trying to ignore a Ryan/Kelly plot bunny that bit me, hard, in favour of finishing up stuff I actually have to do. (Not that I'm not going to write it, just ... later. Along with any potential quest-y Disney RPF fics involving dragons.) I'm not sure if it's helpful or not that what I thought was a simple idea has ballooned into something ridiculously long and involved, but at least that means I won't be tempted to try to quickly dash it off before I finish my other fics. (Also, okay. You know how I'm completely lazy and tend to name a lot of my fics after song titles? I turned on my iTunes, and the first thing that came on - not the song I'm listening to right now - was the song after which I've named the fic I'm currently supposed to working on. A not-so-subtle hint, perhaps? Fine, fine, I'm writing.) | |
|
| It's (roughly) a quarter of the way through November, so, fic check-in time! The only thing I haven't made progress on is my Disney RPF big bang (excluding, of course, my prettylightsfic and yuletide fics, since those assignments haven't been sent out yet). And I've managed to write something every day for wrisomifu; so far, not counting random ficlets, I've written 6256 words, which ... is not extraordinary, but considering I was majorly blocked on one particular fic for most of that time, it's not horrible. ( Exchange fics )( Other stuff ) | |

| Happy upcoming birthdays! summerstorm and gigglemonster, I hope you guys have awesome days. I am super busy this month, so I can't guarantee I'll actually be able to write anything, but if you wanted to leave a prompt or whatever, I'll definitely see what I can do (even if it's just incorporating something into an existing fic). Also, summerstorm, I'm still working on your Fall Fandom Free-For-All fic; I'd hoped to have it finished already, before I got backed up on other deadlines, but it's coming, hopefully soon :) If anyone was thinking about signing up for prettylightsfic but hasn't done so already, you might still be able to sneak in under the wire; the sign up post is here. Also, apocabigbang still needs artists, vidders, and mixers; you can sign up to do that here until November 9th. | |
|
| Dear prettylightsfic author: First off, I am so, so excited about this ficathon. And that you're writing something for me. Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be super awesome, and I'm really excited to read it. And if you already know what you're going to write - that's awesome! Go for it. If you're excited about it, there's roughly a 100% chance I'll be excited about it, too. But if you wanted a few more ideas, or to know about stuff I like and dislike or whatever, I can do that, too. ( Stuff I love, and other things )If you wanted to know more about how I feel about these fandoms in general, you can browse my tags: The Office, Merlin, Wizards Of Waverly Place, Princess Protection Program, Disney. Or feel free to ignore everything I've said, ever, and just write what you want. | |
|
| Fall Fandom Free-For-AllOh, Alex and Justin, I missed writing you two so much! It feels like I haven't written in this fandom in forever (probably because I spent the past ten days freaking out about my spook_me fic, ugh, do you have any idea HOW FREAKING GLAD I am that's finally finished?), and I almost forgot how much I love it. And how easy it is, OMG, I never again want to have such a hard time writing a fic, ever! And this fic is so much fun - there's banter, and wacky magical hijinks, and makeouts (probably), and all the things I love most. (No Max, so far, but sometimes that can't be helped - I tried really hard to fit him into my apocabigbang outline, but mostly only managed to have him be present and not really a focus in a couple of scenes.) Also, this fic will probably end up being longer than 5000 words, because I suck hard when it comes to reasonable estimates of my Wizards Of Waverly Place fics. (Other fandoms, I can generally manage, but I tend to wildly undershoot with my guesses in this one.) Why isn't writing this much fun, always? | |
|
| Title: Not-So-Good Titles For Murder Mysteries Fandom: Disney RPF Pairing(s): David Henrie/Selena Gomez Word Count: 5335 Rating: PG Summary: In which David Henrie kills Joe Jonas (but not for real, probably). Notes: Written for the Halloween ficathon at spook_me. ( The butler really did it, no joke ) | |
|
| Spook MeHA, TAKE THAT, FIC! It's finally finished, and will be posted in a minute. And I totally credit my big bang for making that possible - I took the last couple of days off to start working on that, and being able to write something else made me realise that this fic was not the huge, all-encompassing roadblock I imagined it to be. Which means apocabigbang is now awesome in that it a) EXISTS, b) features a teenage (ex?) cheerleader vampire slayer, and c) fixed my Halloween fic! And ... I maybe even like this fic again, I don't know. But I don't hate it, and it's done, so that's a huge win. So, one fic down, six to go. (Also, while my mood theme says 'relieved,' it is actually a picture of 'secretly disappointed I can't nail my hot sister.' Totally appropriate for everything I talk about ever, y/y?) | |
|
| Dear yuletide author: Yay, you're writing me a fic! This is a thing I love, and I'm already excited to read it. If you already have an awesome idea you're totally excited to write, feel free to go ahead and do just that - I love every one of these fandoms, so I'm sure to enjoy anything you could possibly write, especially if you love it, too. But in case you're still looking for that perfect idea, these are just a few of the things I love in fic, and in the fandoms I requested, which may give you some idea of what would make me particularly happy. ( I want a hippopotamus for Christmas )If you'd like to read more about stuff I've said about any of these fandoms, you can browse my tags: Wizards Of Waverly Place, Miss Match, Greek, She's The Man. Or just ignore everything, and go with what you feel like writing ;) And in case you're wondering, I'm signed up over there as Zhailei. | |

| Awesome Ficathons, Redux: prettylightsfic is still open for sign ups until November 6th. If you can't sign up with the requirements currently in place, comment at the exemption post and you might still get to play. apocabigbang is in need of more artists/vidders/mixers; if you're willing to create art, graphics, a vid, or a fanmix for someone else's fic, please considering signing up. Rules are here, and sign ups are open until November 9th. yuletide sign ups just went live, and are open until November 12th. There are literally thousands of small fandoms to choose from, and it's definitely a fannish highlight of my year. Not only did I plot my Wizards Of Waverly Place apocabigbang fic, but I actually started writing it: Alex the Vampire SlayerTake that, writing! In less exciting news, apparently my Halloween fic has become exactly like a chore in my mind; like, it's something that isn't particularly difficult, and can even be fun, but I dread doing it, anyway. But at least it's specific to that fic, and not writing in general, given that it's ficathon season and I just signed up for two big bangs. Now I'm off to narrow down the list of fandoms I want to write for yuletide, post my dear author letters, and maybe even sleep, if I can manage it. | |
|
| My Alex the Vampire Slayer apocabigbang fic is plotted, yay! It will ... probably end up being significantly longer than the 10,000 word minimum, but that's okay; I still have three months to write it, after all. And I'm totally excited about it, which is awesome. Now if only the Disney RPF fic would come as easily. In other news, Greek had its mid-season finale last night, and I'm going to miss it so much. But, thoughts on the episode: ( Greek )And now we have to wait until January for new episodes, which sucks. (Though chances I'll rewatch the series before then are probably high, ngl.) | |
|
| I hate this fic, god, why is it still not finished? Oh, right, because I procrastinated like crazy yesterday. I did, at least, manage to make some progress: Spook MeI don't know, seriously. It's not like writing it is actually that hard, when I can make myself sit down and do it, it's just that I'm really reluctant to even do that much. And I can't quite bring myself to work on anything significant that's not this fic, either, because this one is already overdue. Ugh. Basically, all of this has completely destroyed any sense of perspective I may have had, so I really have no idea whether the story is ridiculous and awesome, or ridiculous and crap. Whatever, I'm going to finish it, and then I'm going to post it, and maybe in six months or so I may actually be able to bring myself to look at it again. - Tags:fanfiction

| Wow, I am awesome at procrastinating. So far, in the past couple of days I've signed up for prettylightsfic, written my Dear Author letter, started compiling my yuletide requests and letter, put together word count meters for half a dozen fics that don't need them because they're currently sitting at a grand total of nothing, and written a ficlet that's completely unrelated to anything else I'm supposed to be doing. And, okay, I did manage to write another few hundred words of my spook_me fic, but the way it's going right now, I'm pretty much just hoping that people don't hate it. I also tried to sleep, but obviously that didn't work out so well for me, since I'm still awake. (But, apparently, last night the night before last I dreamed that my Disney RPF apocabigbang fic should be a Sliders AU. And that they should slide to a post-apocalyptic reality or something. And I woke up pretty firmly convinced that this was an actual thought I'd had while awake, and was therefore something that was actually awesome, instead of dream awesome, until I realised that, nope. In my dream, though, it was the best idea ever. And now I kind of want to watch Sliders. Specifically, I want to watch the pilot, but I do have a random season three episode that, for some reason, was included as a bonus feature on my Earth 2 DVDs. So maybe I'll watch that.) | |

| Title: I Want To Hold Your Hand Fandom: Greek Pairing(s): Ashleigh/Rebecca Word Count: 150 Rating: PG Summary: It's pretty much the same thing they do every night. Notes: Written for femslash100. ( I think you'll understand ) | |

| Unlike large swathes of my friends list, I'm not doing NaNoWriMo this year (good luck to those who are!), but I am doing wrisomifu, in which I am going to make an attempt to work on (and possibly finish) at least a couple of the fics I'm supposed to be writing. So, November is still a writing month, just ... not writing from scratch. Anyway, to that end, I thought I'd compile a list of stuff I wanted to work on, which may or may not actually help me do that. Now with bonus progress meters! ( Stuff With Concrete Deadlines Before The End Of The Year )( Longer Stuff That's Not Due Until Next Year, Or With Deadlines I Totally Made Up )Plus assorted fics from the movie title meme, omgjustinalex, and stuff I might actually want to write for fun. And As You Like It, which is probably not going to be written this month, but maybe in December. | |

And I dressed up as Pyjama Girl, which, shut up, is totally a real costume. Now, um, I might actually write fic? Or something? - Tags:battlestar galactica, brothers and sisters, buffy the vampire slayer, dead like me, disney, dollhouse, fanfiction, heroes, real person fic, star trek, supernatural, the o.c., wizards of waverly place
